OPEN THE 407 NOW is a grassroots citizen advocacy group formed to advocate for use of the Highway 407 toll road as part of an alternative solution to constructing Highway 413. As readers know, the Province of Ontario is proposing a 59 km 4-6 lane new expressway through the Greenbelt in Vaughan and across farmland in Caledon and Brampton to Milton. Our focus is to promote more timely alternatives and better use of tax dollars by providing a truck toll discount to open up Highway 407 to trucks, providing more capacity on nearby roads like Highway 7 and Highway 401.
